Building a Sustainable Future

Grupo GOCA, is dedicated to building a sustainable future, and we are proud to have transformed over 132 hectares of land in the state of Hidalgo into a private nature reserve.

We are committed to making a meaningful and lasting positive impact on people’s lives and the world. With strong determination, we proactively take actions to create a sustainable future.

Restoring Nature’s Balance:
Reforestation and Propagation of Endemic Plants

With our unwavering commitment to sustainability, we actively engage in reforestation and propagation of endemic plant species, including maguey, huizache, mesquite, and palo dulce. Annually, we replant over 2,000 specimens, rejuvenating the soil, mitigating erosion, and safeguarding wildlife habitats.

Aprovechamiento del agua

Water management

The semi-arid location of Rancho San José has compelled us to develop systems for capturing and distributing rainwater. Given the irregular, unpredictable, and limited rainfall, we optimize this invaluable resource by building reservoirs and interconnected canals. We have implemented rainwater catchment ponds and canals for over 40 years to maximize water use.

Preservación de la biodiversidad

Preserving global biodiversity

Pollinators, like bees, have a crucial role in conserving ecosystem biodiversity and, in turn, the welfare of all living creatures. Today, our stewardship of Matilde and Rafael, our two apiaries, contributes to safeguarding the planet’s biodiversity and promoting the well-being of all organisms.

Soil and Ecosystem Regeneration

Over the years, we have undertaken diverse soil rehabilitation efforts to revive its vitality and improve its quality. By implementing various earth movements, we restore the soil, rejuvenate its life, and foster its enhanced functionality. A fertile soil facilitates moisture infiltration, retention, and promotes equitable water distribution while mitigating desertification processes.

Cultural and Educational Projects

Through our foundation, Iniciativa GOCA, we have partnered with the community from El Campanario on diverse cultural and educational initiatives. In 2011, we launched the Estela Project, a venture designed to foster literacy and cultivate artistic appreciation among children in this community through interactive workshops, created in collaboration with students from Tec de Monterrey.

Creation of the Estela Community Cultural Center

Since 2013, through a collaboration among the Estela Project, Grupo GOCA, Iniciativa GOCA, and Rancho San José, along with support from various institutions, we have transformed the vision of establishing a community center for our neighboring community El Campanario into a reality. Today, people of all ages come together in this space to connect, collaborate, share knowledge, and work collectively. This cultural center is run entirely by dedicated mothers from the community. It serves as a meeting place, study area, early childhood stimulation zone, and, most importantly, the heart of our community.
